This page contains answers to common questions regarding US Eagle's decision to discontinue banking services for cannabis-related businesses (CRBs), ATM businesses, and Money Service businesses.

  • Q: What actions do I need to take before the deadline?

    • A: Make sure all business documentation is up to date. You may also want to save or print all statements for your records. 

  • Q: What happens if I do nothing?

    • A: Your account will be closed on October 31, 2026 and a check will be mailed to the address on file. 

  • Q: What is the final date to close my account?

    • A: October 31, 2026

  • Q: Can I close my account via email, by phone, or in person?

    • A: Yes, please contact:

  • Q: How long does account closure take?

    • A: This process takes 1-2 business days once all items have posted.

  • Q: How do I withdraw my funds?

    • A: Cashier’s checks may be requested at any of our branch locations. You may also write a check for deposit to your new financial services provider. Funds can also be transferred to your new financial services provider via ACH or wire transfer.

  • Q: Will I receive a check?

    • A: Yes, if requested or if the account remains open after October 31, 2026.

  • Q: Are there fees associated with closing my account?

    • A: No, there are no fees associated with closing your account.

  • Q: What happens to automatic deposits or payments?

    • A: We recommend transferring these to your new financial services provider as soon as possible. Any requests received after October 31 will not be accepted. 

  • Q: Will there be any disruptions to my current monthly services (ACH services, wire requests, etc.)?

    • A: No. All services will remain in place through October 31.

  • Q: Will my monthly service fees remain in place as long as my account remains open?

    • A: Yes. 

  • Q: What happens to my account records?

    • A: All records are available online and in-branch until October 31.

  • Q: Will my data be shared?

    • A: No, never.

  • Q: How long will records be retained?

    • A: U.S. Eagle follows NCUA requirements for record retention, which is 7 years.

  • Q: Can I still access statements after closure?

    • A: No. Business statements will not be available online after October 31.

  • Q: Can you recommend another provider?

    • A: U.S. Eagle is unable to make recommendations. However, the Cannabis Association of New Mexico could serve as a great resource to help you establish services elsewhere.

  • Q: Do you offer another product I can transition to?

    • A: No, we do not offer any alternative products.

  • Q: Can I receive individualized assistance?

    • A: Yes, we are able to assist members on an individual basis. Due to the high number of requests, email correspondence is highly recommended.

  • Q: What if I need more than 60 days?

    • A: Unfortunately, we will be unable to provide any extensions or exceptions for accounts past October 31.

  • Q: State of New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Division is changing inventory tracking systems to Seed2Sale by Real Time Solutions. Do I need to integrate with my US Eagle account?

    • A: No, US Eagle will not be integrating with Real Time Solution’s inventory tracking program.
